Rabbit Doll

This rabbit doll will be in my shop soon.. It was made from Garden Gloves.. Yes.. you read it right! The Gloves!! and one side of sock..

The doll height is about 12 inches.. from top of the ear to leg.. and the one you see in here is the prototype.. I plan to make the first item with Ballerina Rabbit.. Witch Rabbit for Halloween.. Bride and Groom.. :D It's the plan.. not sure it's gonna happen on time..

And I plan to sell the kits for this rabbit too.. The how-to instruction in PDF file.. and another one the DIY kits.. What do you think??

In the pattern, it started with 51 chains.. you can change the number but be the number that can divide by 3.. such as 57, 66, 78..

I like this pattern but when I tried it the small flowers came out not so good.. so I passed to another pattern.. which I will show you tomorrow.. :D

They used 4/0 Japanese Crochet Hook - 2.5mm with 4 colors of yarns.. and 4 buttons..

This is for Thin Monitor ONLY!! When you see the pattern you will see that they have only 20 rows (5.5cm) for the back.. The front and back will be attached together with buttons..

If you want to adapt for Box Monitor (for old computer).. you can use the front pattern and make the same length for both sides.. or use the original back pattern but increase the length.. it depends on your decisions..

They use 3/0 crochet hook size.. it's 2.3mm size..

But I think you can use the crochet hooks that you already have.. coz this is the beginner pattern.. if you make the same number of chains as this pattern with the larger hook, you will get larger blanket..

I didn't re-pattern as US pattern here coz I think the crochet chart will be easy to understand.. if you have any question, leave the comment..

Round Mat (I found this pattern in Picasa.. again)

Using Japanese Crochet Hook size 5/0 (3 mm) and 3 colors of yarns (as A, B, and C).

Pattern: (see the below picture together with these details)

Start with Magic Loop (see instruction - click here!) with 14 stitches.

Row 1 - ch. 3 (as 1 double crochet) double crochet in every stitches [14sts.], slip stitch at third chain to end this row.

Row 2 - ch. 3 (as dc); dc on the same chain as chain3; [dc on the next chain, dc on the same chain] repeat 13 times [total 28sts.], slip stitch to end.

Row 3 - ch. 3; 2dc on the next chain; [dc on the next chain, 2dc on the next chain] repeat till end row [total 42sts.], sl.st.

Knitting Patterns: Two Tones Blanket

After mini blanket pattern, I give you "Two Tones Blanket".. It's easy for beginners like a mini blanket pattern..

This pattern is from "Vogue Knitting Presents Debbie Bliss Knitting Magazine Fall/Winter 2008". I found this book in Picasa Web Album.

(I told you that I will make the mini blanket and show you mine.. Due to I doubled size the pattern to make for my niece, I found out that I didn't have enough yarns so I tried to make it with two colors yarns.. and I had to create my own pattern for two colors.. as striped blanket.. then I lazy to make this pattern coz it used a lot of time to finish it.. and now winter starts.. I have to find new pattern..)

"RUNNING STITCH BLANKET"

Reversible Blanket knitted in 2 pieces and sewn together.

MEASUREMENTS: Approximately 48cm x 66cm / 19" x 26"

(I will not give you yarn and needle size.. coz they are up to you.. just measure the blanket size..)

PATTERN:

(make two, one is A color and one in B color)

With knitting needles, cast on 95 sts. (don't forget that it depends on your yarn and needle size)

ROW 1 - K1, [P1, K3]* repeat * until last 2 sts, P1, K1.

ROW 2 - Purl

These 2 rows form the broken rib pattern and are repeated throughout.

Continue in pattern until work measure 66cm/26", ending with a row 1. Bind off knitwise.

TO MAKE UP:

Press lightly. Work contrast "running stitch" using A color on blanket in B and work "running stitch" using B color on blanket in A by using the vertical lines as a guide and running the yarn under the Purl sts.

With Wrong Side together, lay blankets on top of each other and join the two together, over-sewing with A, around the outside edges.

I found the easy pattern for Knitting beginner from Pierrot Website (Japanese Website). It's a mini blanket.. from the picture you can guess what this blanket for.. :) but you can extend the size so it can be a baby blanket or your blanket.. and it's cute with a little kitty head.. isn't it?

I have many hobbies during last couple years and Crochet and Knitting are two hobbies that I love to make.

My Grandmother was my first teacher who taught me to knit since I was young (I think I was Grade 5 or 6) and I learned Crochet from my aunts. I started to knit again last year when my boyfriend went to study in London and I wanted to make something for his birthday so I made him a scarf as birthday present and then a hat that was match to that scarf.

I remember now why I stopped knitting for many years. The weather was the major reason. My hometown is in the NorthEastern of Thailand and winter is winter here. I mean they are cold in the winter season. At the morning sometimes the temperature was under 5 degree Celsius and sometimes they were cold all day for a month. Not like Bangkok, it is Hot and Hotter everyday so when I moved to Bangkok for work, Knitting was not my interest.

Now I'm back in Knitting and Crochet again and this time I am crazy about them especially the crochet dolls called "Amigurumi" and I got many knitting and crochet patterns so I want to share to everyone.

So this blog will be about Crochet and Knitting.. First I will share the patterns that I have, most of them is Japanese so I will give you the basic how to read Japanese patterns first.
